TRINRE Insurance Calls for Inclusivity on World Down Syndrome Day
Saturday 30th March, 2024
On World Down Syndrome Day 2024, TRINRE Insurance joined the United Nation’s global campaign to “End the Stereotypes” and advocate for the inclusion of persons with Down Syndrome by challenging the biases that negatively affect their lives.
As part of its commitment to supporting this cause, TRINRE sponsored the registration of twenty students to attend the Down Syndrome Family Network’s World Down Syndrome Day Conference, which focused on Health Care Equity for persons with Disabilities. According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 2022 Global report on health equity for persons with disabilities, “People with disabilities around the world have worse health outcomes than other people.” At the conference, self-advocates, supporters and NGO representatives shared knowledge, experience, and good practice to improve the health outcomes of persons with disabilities.
Additionally, TRINRE’s staff proudly wore their brightest and most colourful socks to participate in the Lots Of Socks campaign, to raise awareness and encourage conversations about Down syndrome. TRINRE’s Marketing and Customer Experience Manager, Mr. Vinai Narace stated that, “We at TRINRE challenge everyone to look beyond the disability and recognize the talent and potential of persons with Down Syndrome. We must all unite to end the stereotypes, spread awareness and create a more inclusive world for all.” He also commended the Down Syndrome Family Network for their continued commitment to advancing the Disability Agenda and advocating for inclusivity across all levels of society.
